The Screaming Skull by F. Marion Crawford is a tale about an unusual skull. The story describes the man who owns the skull and its horrible effects on other people. Doesn't everybody have a pet skull? If not, then read this story.

After the Meeting with the Vampires by Vince Scarpetti

I was surprised how well the meeting with the vampires went. They were friendly and open, and once I got used to their pallid skin, I felt like I was talking to other people. Their leader, who calls herself Nessa, told us that they had a one-block perimeter covered to make sure the aliens couldn't surprise us. We were a little dismayed when she told us that we were followed as soon as we left our homes. But she reassured us that it was for our safety's sake as well as theirs.

We learned that vampires have formed cells in other cities and are meeting with their mortal counterparts. The vampires have begun a project where they get into close proximity with public officials and determine whether they are human or aliens. Nessa warned us that any human who goes aboard an alien spaceship can be subjected to very sophisticated brainwashing techniques. This was the real reason the woman whose husband had died in a plane crash had such a turnabout in her attitude towards the aliens.

I was very impressed with Nessa. She is a powerful vampire. She may be our best hope in combating the deceptive tactics of Anna, the leader of the aliens. We will meet again next week. More later.

Meeting with the Vampire Underground by Vince Scarpetti

Tonight I am going to meet with the leaders of the vampire underground. I arranged for two other people to come with me because I don't have the authority to speak for all the underground cells in this area. I called the vampire who saved my life last week, and he said he was delighted to hear from me. At the end of the conversation he called me, "His friend." I can't believe I'm becoming friends with a vampire. A week ago I thought they were something out of fiction. But, we have a common enemy and all our survival is at stake.

My friend "Jack" says his work on an alien detector is almost finished. If it works, it will enable us to kill the reptiles before they can enter our meetings. If we can put them into mass production, we can seek them out where they have embedded themselves in our society. However, we must go about this carefully because the damn spaceships are still hovering above our cities. How can anyone think the aliens are "our friends" when they put those damn ships so close they could squash us like bugs. Maybe that's the way they see us. I'll write more later, after the meeting.

V - Reptiles Attack - Vampire Rescues me by Vince Scarpetti

The meeting had barely got underway when a small alien spherical droid burst into the room. Dozens of people were wounded and a few killed instantly. As we made our way to the door, the alien reptiles burst into the room. I was knocked to the floor and about to be shot when a man grabbed the reptile and broke its neck. He helped me off the floor and we fled the building. We ran for two blocks before we stopped to look back.

I was out of breath, but he seemed to be fine. When I looked closer, he wasn't breathing at all.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"A friend," he replied.

"But you're not breathing."

"That's because I'm dead," he said.

" "You're….. you're….. you're."

"Yes. I am a vampire."

"Why did you save me?"

"Don't you think it would be polite to say thank you first." He had a sardonic grin on his face.

"I'm sorry. Yes. Thank you. But what were you doing there?"

"The reptiles will exterminate all life on this planet, not just humans," he said. "Besides, if they killed mortals and left us alive, we couldn't get blood from them." He laughed out loud. "Tell your leaders that the vampires will help them. You can reach me at this number." He handed me a card then disappeared.

I was alive, thanks to a vampire. Something I couldn't imagine. But nothing had been the same since the aliens had arrived. More later.

Preparing for the Aliens - V by Vince Scarpetti

If I told you my real name, the reptiles would kill me within 24 hours. So this is the name I'm going to use as I work with the underground. There's a meeting tonight in a Washington suburb. I just took my Glock (automatic) apart and reassembled it. I made sure I had five spare clips of bullets. Now I'm looking for my Kevlar vest. My friend John is working on an electronic device he claims will detect the presence of a single alien in a room full of humans. That's one of the big problems. They've infiltrated so deep we don't know who to trust. It's us or them. Kill or be killed. I hope I'm alive at the end of the night. I'll keep you posted.
